How it works
Small on purpose, and more careful than it looks. A few decisions, each with a cost.
One job, set once
Keep the Mac awake for the time you choose, then stop. There is no session to start and no mode to re-arm. You set it once, and the app keeps that mode, including after the Mac sleeps and wakes. No scheduling, no rule builder, no history to browse.
Cost: if you want "stay awake on weekdays between 9 and 5", this is the wrong app, and it will stay the wrong app.
State you can read at a glance
The menu bar is the interface. One icon tells you whether the Mac is being held awake, for how long, and whether anything is standing in the way.
That is the point, not a limitation. The place you already look at is the place that tells you what the app is doing, so there is no window to open and no second status to trust.
A timer you set yourself
Pick the length, from a minute up to a day, or leave it unlimited. The menu bar counts down what is left, and the last minute is shown in seconds.
Cost: the countdown is deliberately slower than the wall clock, because it waits for a moment of quiet instead of ticking under your hands.
Media comes first
If audio or video is playing, the countdown waits. A film or a call is never cut short by the timer.
Most keep-awake apps behave this way by default. Here you can also turn it off, if you would rather the timer ignore playback and keep counting.
Nothing leaves the machine
No account, no network, no telemetry, no permissions. There is nothing to sign into and nothing to delete.
Cost: no crash reports and no usage numbers. Problems reach me as messages, which is why the changelog and the feedback form exist.
Limits and shipping
A hold keeps the Mac from going to sleep on its own. Closing the lid still sleeps it, and that is not something an app should fight.
macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel. Updates are checked from a public release channel, no account needed. The current build is not notarized yet, so the first launch may ask you to allow it in System Settings.
